Prologue
The murky blue water began to ripple. Ever-growing circles were stretching out further across the surface. The peaceful sound of flowing water and tweeting Hoothoot was replaced with the sound of fast rushing water. Suddenly a lump began to form in the centre of the ripples, growing bigger with every second that passed. The creature was emerging even more; its bright blue eyes were glowing, illuminating the surface of the water. Its whole body was hovering a few inches above the water now, looking at the bank. Slowly, for the first time in twenty-five years, it raised its arms to chest height and closed his eyes, concentrating all of its energy into what it was doing. Slowly, a bright purple ball of light formed. Keeping focus the creature flung the ball into the air. A huge dome of light smashed at thirty feet and spread put in every direction.

People all across the region were tossing and turning in their beds, waking up and sweating. They were dreaming the same dream. One terrible dark black creature was taking everything nice and colorful and replacing it with darkness and misery. Darkrai was here.

After having to spend years at the bottom of several different lakes him and his allies were waking up and preparing to wreak havoc across the world. To get revenge on those who imprisoned them. With a groan, knowing that his superiors would find out he was back, he took off into the night sky and headed to Distortion Lake, the portal to the Distortion Realm.

Oooh, very exciting: A Darkrai story! I'm curious to see what happens in the Distortion Realm now.

Chapter 1: Missions
"Sir," A man whispered through a telephone, "I'm here as Distortion Lake, awaiting my next order."
"Just observe what Darkrai is doing and make sure he does not get away." The man on the other end of the line said.
"Yes sir." The first man agreed, saluting. "Shall I catch him?"
"It would be good if you can, Goon 10."
"I'll try. I mean, what's the worst thing that can happen?" Goon 10 questioned, but the line was dead. He pulled a pokeball from his pocket and emerged from the bushes that had hidden him. "Go Riachu!" He shouted.

"I'm going to get my first Pokemon! I'm going to get my first Pokemon!" A girl chanted as she skipped along a pathway up to Aurora Labs, the number one place for pokemon research. She stopped skipping and walked up to the doors. The opened automatically and she stepped in.

It was like she was in a town in the future! She couldn't take all of the gadgets and machine in, it was all to complex. She looked around, stared at the white walls and banks of computers, people walking around with their Pokemon following after them and then her eyes fell onto one cute little Pokemon stood in the corner of the ground floor. She walked over to it. It had a yellow body with a yellow and brown, twitchy tail. Its face had a red spot on both cheeks and little stumpy legs. She bent over to stroke it when suddenly-
"STOP!" Yelled a man. He ran over to the girl. "Don't touch him. He's a genetically modified Pikachu. If you touch him he will shock you."
The girl stopped what she was trying to do and looked at the man. "Hello, I'm Lyra." Lyra said. "Who are you?"
"I'm Professor Aurora, head of Aurora Labs. You’re here for your first Pokemon and the mission of a lifetime, aren’t you?" Aurora asked.
"Yes. I am" Said Lyra.
"Right this way then." Aurora led off down one of the many corridors and into a room with a sign on the door. It read: Prof. Aurora

They got inside the room to find a serried of lights and alarms going off. Aurora ran over to one of the computers and began to tap on some key on the keyboard at a pace only he could understand.
"What going on?" Lyra asked.
"It’s the rift!" Aurora told her, "Darkrai is about to open it!"
